Stampin Up Seas the Day CAS Less but Better for Double Trouble Challenge #164

Today is my second installment as guest designer for Double Trouble Challenge for Challenge 164 which is CAS Less but Better.  CAS is a little hard for me to create.  I like inky and I am pretty messy.  The Twisted Sister twist did help a bit, use color cardstock for the "white" space.  As you can see, that worked for me.

Here is the prompt from Double Trouble Challenge 164.  You can find all the details following the link.

I recently acquired this Stampin Up set.  There are so many wonderful layered cards with the set, however, I easily envisioned this CAS design with the deep sea creatures featured on a shimmer ink splatter.

I created a second card with the same set, different creature and colors.  You can see why I am not a fan of CAS.  After I was completely done, I smeared ink at the bottom toward the left.  It's visible in the photo but really apparent in person as the ink is black.  I was also a bit disappointed with the ink I used for the sentiment.  It is the same as the jellyfish but it does not "pop" off the shimmer spray.  Again, in real life all the shimmer inks and sprays do look very pretty.

Another view of the iridescent inked jelly fish and sentiment.

Here are both cards.

Ingredients:
Stampin Up Seas the Day stamps and dies
Scrapbook.com Vacation cardstock
Tim Holtz Distress inks: Peacock Feathers, Salvage Patina and Tumbled Glass
Tattered Angels Dazzling Diamonds glimmer mist
Stampin Up Crisp Cantaloupe ink
Versafine Onyx Black
Radiance White Cover stock from Marco's

jellyfish-Brillance Pearlescent Purple and Pearlescent Twilight ink

Scrapbook.com Happy Spring Bouquet

Hello Spring!  This week has really harbored the welcome sunshine of spring here in Ohio. I recently played along with SBC Fest class by Laura Graff. The great thing about the fest is that you can follow along with the classes after the fact.  I am quite fond of pressing pause to catch up with the video.  Here I created an almost exact copy of the case save for a few products from my stash.

Ingredients:
Stampin Up Sizzix Wreath Builder (bow die)
Liquid Pearls
misc card stock

Once again, here is the link to the SBC Fest class by Laura Graff for instructions to this project and more.

"Let's Get Krafty" Earth Day card as Double Trouble Guest Designer

Hello and happy April! I have been invited to be the guest designer this month at Double Trouble Challenge.  April's first challenge is "Let's Get Krafty" and runs through April 14.  I  used kraft card stock as my card base.  I used a variety of techniques to incorporate shades of blue as per the Twisted Sister element.

Here's the prompt for Double Trouble challenge #163.

Here is a close up of my die cut and background.  I inked the edges and shaded with chalking ink.  I sprayed the kraft card stock with shimmer spray to lend a touch of sparkle. The sparkle background segues into iridescent paper I used for the globe stand.  I cut both parts of the globe from shades of blue in keeping with the Twisted Sister prompt.

Ingredients:
Spellbinders August 2020 Around the World dies
Kindred Stamps Earth Day stamps
Stampin Up Blueberry Bushel ink
Lindy's Gang Starburst Sprays Bachelor Button Blue
Quick Quotes Powderpuff chalking ink Blue Moon

The final piece of this challenge is to join in the challenge over at Inspiration Station.  HERE is there prompt and more details.

This will qualify you for an additional chance in our random drawing. "Try to leave the Earth a better place than it was when you arrived.” -- Sidney Sheldon

Scrapbook.com Hello Sunshine Bunny card

Hello Sunshine!  I am so excited about this card.  I created this card after taking this class as part of SBC Fest 2024.  The possibilities of this Scrapbook.com Rabbit die set are infinite.  I am sending this to my niece and nephew. I hope they display these cuties. I made it an easel card so it would be easy to display. I never make easel cards. It was super easy and I appreciated the challenge of designing for a different fold.

Here's a close up of all my die cutting.  I used the Scrapbook.com papers for most of the die cutting, however, the grey of my boy bunny is out of my stash as is the black, white and pink papers.

I stamped the sentiment inside.  I also stamped the carrots and fussy cut each piece.  Scrapbook.com is coming out with the matching die set soon.  You know, I will have to have it!

Ingredients:
American Craft Pine pigment ink (carrot foliage)
Ranger Archival Russet ink (carrot)
Momento Tuxedo Black ink (sentiment)
Quick Quotes Feather Gray Powderpuff chalking ink
misc card stock

All the Scrapbook.com product came from the SBC Fest bundle kit available HERE and let me tell you it is a bargain!  Of course, there's more accompanying product that I need to now purchase.  LOL

DCWV Stardust Stack: Flanders layout for Sketches in Thyme

Good morning sunshine! Today I am scrapping some of the few photos I like of myself.  These are from a dinner in Flanders, CT. It's a trip we took in 2020 so you know those smiles, laughter and sharing meals with friends were few and far between.  I used DCWV Stardust Stack papers and from there I picked up whatever I had in my stash that worked to embellish.  Of course, I was inspired by my monthly sketch from Sketches in Thyme Facebook Group.

Here's the sketch.

Ingredients:
DCWV Stardust Stack
misc card stock and papers
gold doilies, gold chipboard sticker letters, tickets, fibers, sequins and various embellishments

Don't forget you can play along until the end of the month with any of our weekly sketches on the Sketches in Thyme Facebook group.  Thanks for stopping by.

Sizzix Fold a long Rainbow card for Spring

Spring is right around the corner so I created a subtle bright rainbow to help usher in the new season.  I love rainbows and I love the wow of special folds.  This made all the more exciting by being a shaped card and all the more easy with the Sizzix die set.

I stamped this sentiment inside the card, but I can't for the life of me figure out the set from which it came.

Ingredients:
Sizzix Card Fold-a-long Jen Long Rainbow
misc papers and card stock

Stampin Up All Boxed Up with Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challange

Welcome to my blog today.  I am creating for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  I recently purchased this Honey Bee paper second hand.  I thought it was so pretty, but who knew I would come up with this March holiday card with it!  I found this awesome sticker sheet in my March holiday stash.  I consulted my color swatches and found Stampin Up Wild Wasabi to be the best ink match.

Here is this week's sketch.

A close up of my cluster.  I created with sentiment strips and stickers. I added the circular sticker to white cardstock and die cut it.  Then popped it up with foam stickers.

It's so easy to coordinate with a paper stack.

Stampin Up Wild Wasbi Ink
Honey Bee Playful Pastels 6x6 papers
Spellbinders various circle dies
